Blind Dining
Imagine entering a restaurant that is completely pitch black with a blind wait staff at your service. Soon your sense of sound, taste, smell and touch are intensely heightened.
Originating in Switzerland, this blind eating trend has swept Europe. I first tried one of these "blind dining" experiences in Berlin last year thinking I'd never be able to experience such a thing in the US. But sure enough, the dining concept has arrived.
Opaque, the first "dark dining" establishment in San Francisco, apparently offers the same experience sans the blind wait staff normally employed in Europe. Instead, a wait staff utilizing night vision is at your service. Bon appétit!

Sonic Type
Here's a typeface that you can actually listen to. Designed by artist/musician Edgar Walthert, SonicWaves is the first sonic typeface based on sound waves. Although the waveforms don't actually yield the phonetic sound of each letter, it does offer some interesting sound patterns. Check out what "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" sounds like!
